Not all firms are the same. We provide very high quality reports at very reasonable and flexible prices. We also provide fixed prices for your certainty, instead of the traditional model of an hourly rate but uncertainty about how many hours will be charged.

Our turnaround time for Business Valuation, Company Valuation and Forensic Accounting reports are generally 2 to 3 weeks. For urgent matters, we can accommodate shorter time periods. The main component of the turnaround is the time it takes for clients to provide us with the required information. If your matter is urgent, please contact us immediately.

The cost is dependent on the nature of the business and assignment, however in almost all cases, we will provide you with a fixed fee quote during the initial conversation or email you a quote the same day. Please contact us for a short initial conversation, whereby we will ask some preliminary questions to understand the task. We have been operating for many years and thoroughly understand the market, hence we constantly ensure our fees are extremely cost competitive and exceptional value for money.

Contact us to discuss your matter and we will answer any of your queries and provide a fixed price quote straight away. We will send you a short agreement to sign to commence the engagement.

We have a streamlined process to make the experience easy and efficient for you. Once you have accepted the quote, we will provide a short agreement for you to sign. Once we are engaged, the process involves the following steps:

  1. You provide us with initial information, which is predominantly the financial information. We will provide you with a checklist.
  2. We will analyse the information provided and issue a list of financial and conceptual queries.
  3. Receiving responses to our queries.
  4. We conduct our own research concurrently.
  5. Once we have all the required responses, the next step from your perspective will be receiving a copy of the report, which incorporates all the required analysis, research and calculations.

Some accountants can provide valuations, however it is a very specialised area, hence the vast majority of accountants either do not provide this service, or only do it for very simple matters. We provide valuations for a vast array of businesses, from start-ups to businesses with hundreds of millions in turnover. Additionally, your accountant may not be independent. We specialise in this area and don’t provide the typical services that accountants provide.

We produce high quality reports and perform a high level of research, analysis and calculations, including numerous crosschecks and an in depth understanding of the business. No two cases are identical, but these types of reports typically take around 2 to 3 weeks. For urgent matters, we can accommodate shorter time periods. If your matter is urgent, please contact us immediately.

We use various valuation methodologies, whereby one will be the primary and the others will form crosschecks. Each business is unique and so our processes ensures that a full understanding of the business is achieved. We undertake a high level of analysis, research and modelling in completing a thorough valuation report.

Yes. We very regularly deal with businesses that are undergoing (major) changes, major industry changes, are unprofitable or start-ups (either pre revenue or operating businesses). Many businesses also operate in fast moving environments. Hence, business valuations are not as simple as assessing the past and just applying an (average) industry multiple. We always assess the complete picture, including the economic conditions, industry conditions, business conditions, strategy and many other factors.

The short answer is generally sooner rather than later. Clients approach us for many different reasons. For disputes, its always best to get the valuation completed as soon as possible as it can often assist in a more amicable and efficient dispute resolution. For selling a business, it’s very important to understand the value and the value drivers of the business ahead time, ideally even a few years before the planned sale, to enable an opportunity to enhance the value prior to sale.

We will guide you through the entire process. The first step is to provide us with historical and current financial information.

No, this is not possible and any opinion that is not based on thorough analysis, research and modelling is very misleading. What most people don’t understand is that whilst the capitalisation of earnings approach (using an earnings multiple) is relatively simple to calculate, small changes in variables can make a very large difference and there are many other factors to consider, such as normalisation adjustments, considering the future prospects, business conditions & strategy, industry conditions, economic conditions, competitors etc. Furthermore, this is only one of the methodologies that need to be carefully considered in each case.

Yes. We very regularly deal with start-ups, including pre revenue and operating businesses that may not yet profitable and operating businesses that are profitable but on a growth trajectory. Many businesses also operate in fast moving environments.

Yes, we do not have any minimum or maximum requirements. We have valued businesses of all sizes. For example, we have valued small businesses like a single take away or coffee shop, with one owner. Similarly, we very regularly value businesses with a value of tens of millions of dollars and even sometimes hundreds of millions of dollars.

We are aware of cost constraints that smaller businesses or business owners face. Therefore, we are able to extend discounted fees on a case by case basis. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

The same process is followed for small businesses of all sizes. Small businesses are often more unique and can often be more tricky to value than larger, more established businesses with dedicated finance, management, marketing departments etc. Comparability to reference points is much more challenging for smaller businesses, which emphasises the need for a high level of research, analysis, modelling and experience.

We offer Business / Company Valuations and Forensic Accounting reports that are used in family law. We are engaged in one of the following ways:

  1. Single Expert Report – engaged by one of the parties in the dispute to provide an expert report regarding the valuation of a business or a forensic report
  2. Jointly Appointed Single Expert Report – engaged by both parties in the dispute to provide an report regarding the valuation of a business or a forensic report
  3. Adversarial or Shadow Expert Report – appointed by one of the parties in a dispute that is dissatisfied with the single expert report in the matter. This type of engagement includes a critique of the existing single expert report.
  4. Other Roles – where an expert report is not required, there are other options available, such as a consulting role or Business Valuation report for mediation purposes.

The division of the matrimonial asset pool is often a contentious and emotional issue. Property, cash and shares can often be easily valued, however if a business is involved it is much more complex. Businesses are much harder to value than property as each business is unique and requires specialised skills, analysis and knowledge. Having an independent valuation of the business, even at the early stages, can avoid disputes about this issue and possibly lead to a smoother and more efficient overall process.
